Greg Melchior HOFFMANN
Biographie
Georg Melchior Hoffmann, compositeur allemand est né 1678 ou 79 à Barenstein, près de Dresde. Il décèdera le 6 octobre 1715. Il étudie le chant à Dresde et à l'université de Leipzig en 1702. Il est un succèsseur de Téléman à partir de 1704-1705. Il est directeur de musique au Collègieum Musicum, poste occupé par la suite par Jean Sébastien Bach. Il est aussi directeur de l'opéra à Leipzig et chef d'orchestre à Leipzig et Operntheater. Durant une longue période en Angleterre, il fut représenté à Georg Pisendel qui devint un virtuose du violon plus tard à Dresden.
Il était postulant au poste d'organiste qu'occupait Bach à Liebfrauenkirche Halle. Après son départ, il occupera ce poste qu'il quittera peu de temps après. Deux cantates inclus dans les oeuvres de Bach, sont maintenant attribuées à Hoffmann, BWV53 - Schlage doch, gewuenschte Stunde et BWV189 - Meine Seele ruehmt und preist.
Johann Georg Hoffmann est né en 1700 et décédé en 1780. Il est chanteur à Breslau et a écrit quelques 400 Concertos. Dans sa jeunesse, il a aussi appris la trompette et le cor en plus du chant et de l'orgue.
